“If human beings are perceived as potentials rather than problems, as possessing strengths instead of weaknesses, as unlimited rather than dull and unresponsive, then they thrive and grow to their capabilities.” – Bob Conklin About our cause Modeled largely after Elim Christian School, we want Turning Pointe to be a community of joy and hope. For the family of a person with autism, we intend to build a supportive oasis within our community where we can all grow, learn and live with the expectation of dignity, respect and unconditional love. It is only in this environment that we can hope to thrive and live life to our fullest God given potential
We want Turning Pointe to be a community of joy and hope. For the family of a person with autism, we intend to build a supportive oasis within our community where we can all grow, learn and live with the expectation of dignity, respect and unconditional love. It is only in this environment that we can hope to thrive and live life to our fullest God given potential. Turning Pointe is located in Naperville, IL. It is a private nonprofit corporation dedicated to providing innovative, specially designed services to young adults and adults with autism. These services will encompass a school, respite and life skills house, recreational center and eventually 4-6 residences on one community property. Turning Pointe hopes to be an unsurpassed model for others to follow when providing services to adolescents and adults with autism. Turning Pointe will derive funds from a combination of individual service contracts with local education agencies, fee-for-service programs, grants and fundraising efforts. |
