About the Career College Staff

Career College Instructors

Amy Wagner

Earned her M.S.Ed at Mansfield University of Pennsylvania, where she served as a Graduate Assistant for the Residence Life and Education departments. She earned her BA in English at Marywood University. She worked for three years as a Cognitive Behavior Therapist, providing group and individual therapy for children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral challenges in the Pennsylvania Juvenile Justice System. She then moved to South Korea where she taught ESL for two years. She joined the Turning Pointe Career College team in 2013. Amy is excited to be able to combine her therapeutic experience with her love of teaching in the Career College’s unique educational setting.

Vez Osmani

Earned her BA in Behavioral Science at National Louis University. She also has an Associate’s degree in Recreation Therapy. Vez began her tenure at Turning Pointe in the Therapeutic Day School before joining the Career College team in 2014. Her previous experiences include two years as a Program Coordinator at the South West Special Recreation Association, four years working with high-risk pre-k students, and 12 years with the School Association for Special Education of DuPage County. She is also a certified Professional Crisis Management trainer. Vez is proud to bring her passion and valuable experience to Turning Pointe Career College.

Assistant Instructors/Career Mentors

Jasmine Turner

Has a BS in Psychology from Governors State University. She brings two exceptional years of experience working with young adults with autism at Elim Christian Services. A significant part of her responsibilities included preparing students for their future by teaching them life and vocational skills. She developed a passion for working with people with autism at a young age through her commitment to volunteering. She joined the Career College team in 2016. Jasmine is dedicated to building a rapport with her students and believes we should not put limits on them. She loves watching them grow and advance their skills. She recognizes and appreciates that her students also teach her!

Jenna Hlavacek-Phinney

Graduated from the University of Wisconsin in La Crosse with a major in Therapeutic Recreation and a minor in Spanish. Jenna is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist with a background in therapeutic recreation and instructional experiences. Jenna worked for Fox Valley Special Recreation Association where she was a campsite director and program specialist. She has taught life skills, social skills, and other independent living skills to individuals in a residential facility. Jenna worked as an Intense Behavior Interventionist here at Turning Pointe in the Therapeutic Day School before joining the Career College team in 2016. She enjoys working with all students and helping them to achieve their very best!
