PROGRAM SPECIALIST
The Turning Pointe ACCESS Summer Camp is designed to meet the needs of individuals who are on the Autism Spectrum and require a highly organized and structured environment to succeed.      The Program specialist will be responsible for:

  • Collaborating with the Camp Directors on programming development, design and implementation of Camp activities in the following areas
  • Recreational/ outdoor activities OR Academics and learning experiences in a one to one setting OR developing visual supports and TEACCH work-systems for life skills and daily programming
  •  The Program specialist must be available to work at 8am until 3pm; the students attend camp from 9am until 2:00pm. The program specialists will organize daily programming, support camp staff and volunteers in the implementation of their program, work directly with students and be comfortable intervening and preventing behaviors. The specialists will be responsible for morning and afternoon set up and clean up and purchasing an creating all materials (staff are available to help)

REIMBURSEMENT IS: $1,600/ per week (you must be available to work the full two weeks) we also require you to attend a two day Camp Preparation and training session you will be reimbursed, $160 for the session.

Staff Support Person (SSP
)

The Turning Pointe ACCESS Summer Camp is designed to meet the needs of individuals who are on the Autism Spectrum and require a highly organized and structured environment to succeed.      The staff support person will be responsible for:

  • Working from 8:30am until 2:30pm with a 30 minute break
  • Being able to work the full Camp session (2 weeks)
  • Following program specialist and Camp director instructions
  • Implementing behavior, communication and visual supports as directed
  • Attending a two day training session

We are looking for, motivated, caring, enthusiastic and supportive and professional staff. Knowledge and previous experience with individuals with Autism is an asset but not necessary, training is provided.
REIMBURSEMENT:  $12/ hr and $160.00 for the training session

Behavior Intervention Staff (BIS)

The Turning Pointe ACCESS Summer Camp is designed to meet the needs of individuals who are on the Autism Spectrum and require a highly organized and structured environment to succeed.      The Behavior Intervention Staff will be responsible for:

  • Understanding and supporting individuals with behavior challenges
  • Implementation of behavior support plans at the direction of the camp Directors
  • Supporting the camp staff in crisis situations when behavior needs immediate intervention
  • Implementing visual support and token reinforcement systems
  • Being available to work, 8:30am-2:30pm for the full camp session (2 weeks)

We are looking for individuals who are in a degree program in special education, psychology or related field, who have experience working with individuals on the spectrum, can provide us with at least two references supporting their experience and success in the field.
Reimbursement: $20/ hr and $160.00 for the 2 day training session
