Summer Workshop:
Who is the Summer Workshop designed for?
- Individuals with a diagnosis of Aspergers
- Individuals with a diagnosis of Autism who are fully included in the General Education environment with minimal support (are OK in group rations of 5:1 adult)
- Ages 14-18 (High School)
- Who benefit from intense intervention in the area of stress management, social skills, problem solving and strategies that will promote independence and life skills
- Who need to develop skills that will allow them access to college life and or successful job skills
What will a typical day consist of?
- We will begin the day at 9 and finish at 3:30pm (except those who board)
- The student’s will have a morning meeting, focus on developing knowledge and strategies for addressing stress management
- Followed with a community volunteer activity
- Group will cook their own lunch

Life Management Skills:
The afternoon will consist of small group sessions in problem solving and self management strategies
The students will also have a social interaction session attended by local typical peers with adult facilitation
Overnighters will make or go out for Dinner and various evening activities are available
Who will staff the workshop?
Robin Shipley- will Direct the workshop and train, support the staff, she specializes in developing social skills, stress management and independence skills in individuals with ASD including Aspergers. Her experience with teenagers allows her to teach, support and develop effective programming.
Support Staff will be chosen for their experience in the field of special education

Please note Boarders need to provide their own transport to and from the Turning Pointe Camp Site and cover all incurred costs. Transport costs for camp activities are included in the total cost of the Camp |
