What is Camp Access?
A highly organized and structured environment using visual supports daily schedules, icons, language boards to support organization and communication
The daily schedule includes, sensory breaks, focus on academic goals, life skills, arts and crafts, outdoor recreational activities, communication sessions, social interaction/ skills and behavior intervention supports
Whose needs are best met at Camp Access?
Camp Access is designed to ensure students who require 1:1 support, a high degree of organization, have limited to no verbal skills and may experience challenges with behavior that limits their access to inclusive opportunities.
The Camp is staffed with support people who have training and experience in supporting individuals whose Autism impacts their ability to self regulate, focus and access group settings.
How does staff collect information on progress and areas of need?
- We take daily data on frequency, intensity and antecedents to behavior
- We send daily communication logs home, that have anecdotal observations and progress reports
- We send data sheets home on progress in communication via typing and other access methods

Typical Camp Day
The day begins with group schedule-students receive their daily visual schedule
Students rotate through three activity centers, Academics, Sensory activities and Speech and Communication therapy
Students eat lunch and have outdoor play
Students then rotate through three more activities, cooking and life skills, swimming and social skills
Students prepare for home and transition to parents
