A Special Place is a peer engagement program that is created and coordinated by our parents of impacted children who have a passion for creating meaningful creative experiences for high school age children, and have taken on the need for peer led and peer supported activities. A Special Place’s instructors will lead social and recreational activity programming only, and are not qualified to provide any specialized, therapeutic or medical support of any kind that requires any specialized training. A Special Place’s peer buddies are high school aged students that are not trained nor will provide any medical, behavior or communication support. Any support staff required for the participant will need to be determined and provided by the participant’s guardian and/or parent. We reserve the right to deny participation to anyone in this program that we solely determine will be unable to participate or continue to participate for any reason.
